The best coffee shops in Nice

TJBy the Timenjoy newsroom · Updated October 2026

Specialty coffee arrived in Nice later than elsewhere, but the scene finally exists. Iced lattes, matcha, homemade pastries and, above all, places where you can settle in for an hour or two.

Four addresses, from rue Gioffredo to the Rossetti area. All of them serve proper iced coffee in summer, which is less common than it should be, and specialty coffee year round.

The selection

Clay Coffee Shop
1

Clay Coffee Shop

A fixture on rue Gioffredo. Coffee is drunk iced, pastries are ordered without hesitation, and a twenty-minute break easily becomes an afternoon headquarters. Iced latte, matcha and generous plates.

Café with Smile

Café with Smile

A bright coffee shop and a good place to cool down between two hot spells. Specialty coffee, iced matcha, colourful drinks and small homemade treats. Everything pushes you towards a cold cup rather than a scalding espresso.

Big Boy Coffee

Big Boy Coffee

Tucked away near Rossetti, the newcomer already playing with the best. Specialty coffee, homemade pastries and an unapologetically retro feel. You come for a takeaway iced latte and stay for the room.

Café Fino

Café Fino

Turns a simple iced coffee into an excuse to do nothing in the sun for an hour. Terrace, brunch and colourful plates round out the menu. For days when the schedule deserves better than a standing espresso.

Frequently asked questions

Where do you find proper specialty coffee in Nice?
Clay Coffee Shop, Café With Smile, Big Boy Coffee and Café Fino all work with specialty beans, meaning coffee traced and roasted for extraction rather than for shelf life. That is what separates them from the counter coffee served everywhere else in town.
Can you work there for a few hours?
It depends on the moment. A Nice coffee shop fills up between 9 and 11 at the weekend, and a laptop on a two-top then is not welcome. On weekdays and early afternoon, nobody minds.
How is this selection made?
Every place on this list has been visited by the newsroom before it made the cut. We do not republish directories and we do not sell places in the ranking. The list is reviewed at every site update, and a place that closes or slips is taken out.
