What we cover

Nice, Cannes, Antibes, Grasse, Menton, Monaco and the back country. Restaurants, bars, concerts, exhibitions, festivals, markets, family outings and free events. We cover the whole département, not just its capital: the Riviera is a continuous strip of towns, and the good places are spread along all of it.

How we work

The places. Every one of them comes from a visit. Someone on the team went there, paid, ate or drank, and filmed it. A place we have not seen does not go into our guides, however much it is talked about. That is what separates a Timenjoy listing from a directory: we take a view because we have grounds to hold one.

The events. They are not ours. The 198 upcoming events come from the open data published by the Nice Côte d'Azur metropolitan tourist board under an open licence, and are refreshed every morning. We reformat, classify and map them, but we have not checked each one: times change and dates get cancelled. Before travelling, the organiser is the source to trust. Event titles and descriptions stay in French, as the organisers publish them. Our own writing is in English. Full sourcing is on the sources page.

Mistakes. There are some. A venue in the wrong spot on the map, a place that has closed since we went, a price that has moved. Tell us and we fix it: the correction goes live on the next build, which is the following morning at the latest. We correct a page rather than delete it, so that a shared link keeps working.

What we do not do. We do not republish press releases. We do not score out of five, because a number lends false precision to an opinion. We do not publish a ranking unless we have been to every entry in it.
