The best ice cream and frozen desserts in Nice

TJBy the Timenjoy newsroom · Updated October 2026

Between historic institutions and newer healthy spots, Nice covers the full range of frozen desserts. Your choice depends mostly on what you are after: classic artisan ice cream, a sharp sorbet, or a colourful smoothie bowl.

Four addresses, from the shop with dozens of flavours to cold-pressed juice. Avoid the 4pm slot in midsummer at the best-known ones, the queue is real.

The selection

Fenocchio

Fenocchio

Needs no introduction in Nice, but we keep recommending it as soon as the sun bites. The menu is a problem in itself: pistachio, violet, cactus, tomato and basil, and dozens more. Avoid the 4pm queue in midsummer.

Fraîche

Fraîche

The name fits. Smoothie bowls, bold colours, fruit and toppings: the stop to make when you want something cold, photogenic and considerably more indulgent than it looks. Best taken away on hot days.

Glacier Raugi

Glacier Raugi

Corsican artisan ice cream and very sharp sorbets, without the excess sugar that masks everything. There is a family-made quality that cannot be faked. Dangerously well placed on rue Masséna. Start with the fruit sorbets.

Goji Goji

Goji Goji

Ticks the healthy box without going full ice cream parlour. Açaí bowls, smoothies, cold-pressed juices and specialty coffee on the same menu, which is rare. Good for takeaway when it is too hot to think.

Frequently asked questions

Which is the best known ice cream shop in Nice?
Fenocchio, on place Rossetti in the old town, for its improbable catalogue of flavours. Raugi holds the other end of the story, the neighbourhood parlour. Fraîche and Goji Goji are newer and work shorter recipes.
Can you eat ice cream in Nice all year round?
The big old-town houses stay open, the Riviera having no real winter lull. Smaller places cut their hours between January and March, so check before you walk over.
How is this selection made?
Every place on this list has been visited by the newsroom before it made the cut. We do not republish directories and we do not sell places in the ranking. The list is reviewed at every site update, and a place that closes or slips is taken out.
